JULY 1, 2014

Last Saturday I went to Roslindale farmers market and made whistles with 40 people in the community, kids to adults. My friend Alta came to help and she was really great. I had one girl who came to our table and greeted me by name. It turns out she was one of the students we had at Turning Around Boston. She made a pen with her class mates last October and was thrilled to get to make a whistle. I was so happy to see her carefully pass a rasp to her friend just like we showed her all those months ago. It seems like a little thing , but is an indicator that the work we have done so far has some longevity. This week Jenn is back and we are making lists and crossing items off one at time, then adding more and crossing more off. As in most projects we already see what we would have done differently and we not even left the driveway yet. Sanctuary represents so much time by so many people. I am excited to know all the places it will travel. The details are fun. We are adding cabinets and shelves, and figuring out where everything will live while on the road. We will take pictures tomorrow so everyone can see our progress.a
