APRIL 1, 2013

The weeks are flying by. I have a hair less than two months left here at SUNY Purchase. It is so great to wake up every morning and be really excited about what will come from the day. Last week was spring break here, Jenn came to visit and we worked on the perks for our Sanctuary campaign. We cut wood blocks, researched infrastructure for the trailer, walked and talked about design possibilities, we went to NYC to Chelsea to see some art work. It was a jam-packed week. Now I am back in my studio groove, making, thinking and writing. Last night I taught my class. The class Is, Called The Object: from Function to Fetish. I have spent the first part of the semester helping the class build skills on the Lathe and the bandsaw. Now comes the time we put them together to create unique objects. The assignment is to find an ordinary object and make it in wood. Last night the class worked on idea development and working drawings. I am really excited to see the results in two weekIMG_7854 IMG_7855 IMG_7856 IMG_7857 IMG_7858 IMG_7859
