MAY 11,2011

My mother died yesterday. I am heading to Buffalo for a week. When you plan a trip you can never foresee the outside forces which shape it. I will leave my van here in a friends driveway and head to Buffalo tomorrow. My mothers house is where I started my trip 8 months ago. This project allowed me to stay with my Mom for two weeks the last year of her life. If I would have spent the year in my usual work that would never have happened. It was a gift I will treasure.

  2. Seamus says:

    Words are often inadequate
but Mr. Lincoln did a pretty good job
    when he wrote

“I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine
which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement,
and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost…”
