My life seems like a blur for the last two weeks. Gretchen and I drove across the whole country in 8 days. I took her to the Airport in Jacksonville Florida and then went to the Florida Woodturning Symposium to give a few demo’s. I met many wonderful people and was overwhelmed with the appreciation I got from the attendees. Sunday night I went back to Jacksonville and stayed with Gene and Nancy Odonnell. They are members of a woodturning club in Jacksonville who organized a three day project teaching young men at risk woodturning. They had me come to help out . The organization who houses the boys is called Safe Harbor. We had seven fantastic kids. They live on the harbor and learn hand skills necessary to fix all aspects of boats. Each kids gets his own boat to live on. If they fix the boat they are on up ,they get to move to a bigger boat. The kids were all really polite and appreciative. The three days were incredibly satisfying to all who participated. Gene and Nancy were wonderful hosts, and took me to some great places. I look forward to returning to all my new friends in Jacksonville. I arrived at my sisters house in Saint Petersburg tonight and feel like I sleep for two days.

Beth, these are incredible notes and pictures. I feel I have shared a piece of your adventure. You were my first turning instructor, the sessions at Woodcraft in Woburn, probably 1998 or 1999. I have really enjoyed turning as my passion in retirement. You are still my inspiration.
